The mundane improvements matter more than anyone gives them credit for.

Medicine Is About to Get Personal in a Way That Feels Almost Uncomfortable

I know some people feel uneasy about this level of monitoring. That's a fair reaction. But when you weigh discomfort against the possibility of catching something early enough to actually treat it — that math changes pretty quickly.

Every Kid Deserves a Teacher Who Has Infinite Patience

What worries me isn't the destination. It's the gap in between. Transitions are where people get hurt. And the speed of this one means we can't just wait and assume things sort themselves out.

The Questions That Keep Me Up at Night

I genuinely believe AI will improve a lot of lives by 2030. I also believe we are nowhere near settled on the questions that matter most.

When an AI system denies someone a loan or flags someone as a health risk — and gets it wrong — who takes responsibility? When the benefits of these technologies concentrate in wealthy countries and wealthy households, what do we do about the people left behind? When our devices know our habits, our fears, and our patterns better than we know them ourselves, what does privacy even mean anymore?

I don't have clean answers. I don't think anyone does yet. But I do think the people building these systems have an obligation to sit with these questions seriously — not treat them as PR problems to manage after the fact.

What I Actually Think 2030 Looks Like

Not utopia. Not dystopia. Something more complicated and more human than either.

A world where a diagnosis that would have come too late in 2024 comes early enough to matter in 2028. Where my niece stops dreading math class because something finally explains it in a way that clicks for her. Where my cousin's Tuesday afternoon doesn't end in tears over a billing error nobody cared enough to fix.

Small things. Real things. Things that quietly add up to a life that feels less exhausting and more manageable.

The technology is extraordinary. But honestly, the part that gets me isn't the technology itself — it's what it might free us up to do with our time, our energy, and our attention when the small frustrations stop piling up.

That future is worth building carefully. And it's worth protecting from the shortcuts that could unravel it.
